To
date, the bird flu virus has been able to move from
bird to human, but not from human to human. However,
it may only be a matter of time.
Whilst this mutation has not yet happened, we can
prepare ourselves NOW by strengthening our immune
system. With a strong immune system we are well
equipped to fight all sorts of infections.
> A healthy diet and lifestyle are of paramount
importance for a strong immune system.
> Echinacea root stimulates the body to produce
interferon, the body’s own anti-viral defence.
> The bee product Propolis is a powerful anti-viral
medicine.
> The common garden herb Thyme helps the body
get rid of excess phlegm and has a clearing effect
on the lungs.
> Garlic also has antiviral and anti-bacterial
properties supporting the body to overcome influenza.
> Foods rich in vitamin A, C, Zinc and antioxidants
are essential for the immune system to work at its
best.
In some cases, Avian flu causes the immune system
to go into a kind of overdrive. Taking natural remedies,
which kill off most of the flu viruses directly,
can help to prevent this.
> Natural anti-virals are Lemon balm, Echinacea,
Elder flowers, Elecampane, Garlic, St John’s
wort and propolis, to mention the most common ones.
A good fever is a powerful healing response and
must not be suppressed. It helps the body to overcome
the infection and prevents it from spreading further.
The key is to manage the fever but not to suppress
it.
